Top 5 Website Design Tips

  1. Know your audience, that’s what matters the most. Make sure your design is surrounded by your clients because it will help you understand how to get the most out of your space.
  2. Minimize waste and use clear headers. This will help your clients find information fast and without any headaches.
  3. Use the line-height property in CSS, try setting it to 1.5em; this will improve readability and clarity.
  4. Put the most important information on the top body paragraph. Unlike academic writing, web copy is much different; all the useful information should be first read instead of last. This will help you with users that have short attention spans.
  5. Focus on simplicity. Unlike older website were space was used to the limit, website should be simple and unique in order for users to get the most important thing out of your website, information.

Amazon Kindle

Hey Guys,

I was looking through my daily blogs and I found an interesting product which Amazon released, Amazon Kindle. This unique product comes with an backdrop of interesting technology. Kindle uses e-paper to create the atmosphere of real reading. E-paper has been around for a long time now and it seems that we are really seeing the applications today, which could change the way we read and view books.

2D Update

Hello,

Sorry for the late entry if you were checking to see the logos for the IBT Program and Flexography that I created. At any time, please click on the images below, to open up a bigger version of the logo, on a new window.

Flexography logoFlexography logo

This logo is very simple in design. The middle O that looks similar to a bulb serves two purposes.

1) The bulb acts as an “O” in the word Flex”o”graphy.

2) The “O” also acts as a bulb, which integrates into the IBT Program logo, because flexography acts as a major part in the IBT Program.
IBT Program logo

Here is the IBT Program Logo. Again it’s a very simple design that has the light bulb, which represents smartness and sharpness. Also, it shares the bulb with the Flexography logo, making flexography a major focus of the program.

I have also gotten an offer to work on the Ontario Field Hockey Association, which I have accepted, and working on, in a group of 3 people. I will post updates on this project at least once every week.

2D

Hello,

My name is Daxal Desai and I am the Graphics Designer here at Karma Design Studio. I have recently started working on the creating a new logo for the IBT Program (International Business and Technology) and the regional Flexography Program for Gordon Graydon Memorial Secondary School. My design is almost complete, though there are still a few finishing touches to be made to it. The logo is very simple, yet aesthetic.

I will update you on this when this project is completed. I’ll post up the logo up on the blog here. I expect this logo to be finished by Oct 24 2007. So, please come back and visit.
